Neville Fernandes

President and Chief Operating Officer

Neville Fernandes is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Alder Renewables. As part of the management team, Neville plays a key role in the company’s planning, strategy execution, operations, governance, and investor relations.  

Neville has a solid, 25-year track record in the biofuel, petroleum, and chemical industries with Neste, Renewable Energy Group (REG), and Chevron. At Neste, Neville pioneered the commercial launch of the renewable diesel industry in the USA and Canada and successfully grew and managed highly successful renewable diesel and renewable jet fuel (SAF) businesses. At REG (acquired by Chevron in 2022), Neville led the corporate affairs and development, communications, and ESG teams which managed policy, advocacy, communications, and stakeholder engagement issues for its renewable diesel and biodiesel businesses. Neville is a strong supporter of the renewable fuels industry. He is a co-founder and past Chairman of the Advanced Biofuels Association and has served on the Governing Board of the Clean Fuels Alliance America for multiple years. Neville also represented Chevron on the Board of Directors of CoverCress, Inc.  

Neville describes the challenge and the opportunity of renewable fuels: “The efficient movement of goods and people is essential for a high standard of living, and the needed transportation fuels must be sustainable. Consequently, low-carbon, renewable fuels are an essential portfolio element for best-in-class companies investing in and navigating their way through the energy transition.”  

Neville holds a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. He is also a licensed professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
