Job Description

We are seeking a Process Technology Manager to lead and oversee the third-party design, construction, and performance validation of our pilot- and demonstration-scale facilities.This hands-on, leadership-level role will manage and direct projects with external engineering, fabrication, and plant operations partners. The ideal candidate brings mid-career experience in engineering project management and technology scale-up, with a strong technical background in process engineering for biofuels, petroleum refining, or chemical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operational activities for pilot- and demo-scale plants, working directly  with third-party partners.
  • Serve as primary technical interface on behalf of the company for these projects.
  • Develop and oversee operational campaigns to validate technology scale-up and readiness-level benchmarks from pilot to demonstration scale.
  • Conduct high-level engineering design and cost calculations to establish preliminary baseline project estimates.
  • Support the review of process flow diagrams(PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and HAZOP studies.
  • Coordinate updates to process simulations, as well as techno-economic analysis and life-cycle analysis models, based on plant performance data.
  • Travel to potential project sites in the southern U.S., Canada, and Europe to support project design reviews, construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, commercial, and executive teams to ensure project alignment with broader company goals.

Benefits

Salary of $160,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, 401K plan, paid time off, and participation in an equity-linked incentive plan.
